Our huge Watsons Bay market has finally arrived!

It’s finally happening, fellow market-lovers. The Watsons Bay Market is on this Sunday! It’s going to be a big, bright and beautiful way to spend a crisp autumn day outdoors by the water down at Robertson Park. Although we’ve had to cancel two previously planned Watsons Bay Markets due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, this time, we’re on. We’re pitching our tents, we’re unfurling our banners, and we’re firing up our coffee carts. So, why not make a day of it? Hop a ferry and disembark right next to the park to find more than 120 specialty and high-quality stalls, selling everything from artisan homewares, boutique fashions, and delicious fare. Bring a rug, a friend and your appetite and settle in to sample incredible, globally inspired eats, from Vietnamese to Israeli and South American. Make sure you also come equipped with a shopping tote, because you’ll be supporting local, micro businesses by filling your bags with produce, pantry requirements, handmade treats, and artful creations. Expect to make some adored purchases from the likes of sustainable fashion brand Saint Jane; local print shop Pop About Designs; Buffalo Vale Distillery and Savannah Estate Wines; not to mention Bondi’s TLV moreish vegan dips, and so many more. Let’s shop!

Sweet, delicious and sustainably packaged in its own compostable wrapping, fruit is the perfect hand-held snack. Michael from Banana Bar has spent the last 16 years on a mission to boycott flavourless fruit and replenish our fruit bowls with high-quality produce. Working with the best Coffs Harbour and NSW fruit growers to bring bananas and other fruit to the city, he won’t rest until he has kids eating nature’s most delicious and healthy snacks in abundance again. A dedicated fruiterer, Michael encourages his customers to try before they buy and to taste the difference of produce grown well. This week, try red lantern pears, sweet oranges, tangy passionfruit, and papaya from Murwillumbah that Michael describes as “pure magic”.

Is your pantry looking a little on the lean side? Just imagine the horror of being caught without the makings of a great snack plate should unexpected friends stop by – don’t let it happen to you! Pop down to the EQ this Saturday to restock your antipasti supplies. Pick up addictive sourdough crumpets from Scrumpets, gluten-free baked goodies from Hudson’s Bakery, charcuterie and cured morsels from The Great Southern Salami, and a little bit on the side with condiments from Tar 10. There’s also golden elixir from The Honey Library, as well as plenty of bites to nibble as you shop.

Also this Saturday at the EQ we have style sorted with garments from Venetia Elaine, and for mini fashionistas there’s Paris Daisy and Just Audrey. Verve, Elegance by A, and Lather and Bliss have your self-care rituals sorted with their selections of elegantly scented candles, lotions and creams. There’s also jewels to covet from Bowerbird and Willen and Co, and adorable cards and wrappings from Wrappsody. Pint-sized shoppers will love Cute Educational Toys’ new felt Australiana mobile wall hangings, as well as their soft toys and learning books.

A friendly reminder: as we’ve seen this week in Victoria, Covid outbreaks are still a very real occurrence, so we’d like to reassure all our marketgoers and stallholders that your safety is our upmost priority. We will always adhere to safe practices and do everything we can to provide a healthy and enjoyable shopping environment. We do also ask that should you feel unwell, please stay home and rest up. Help us keep the market safe and open.

Thank you and see you at the market.
