Celebrating our beautiful Local partners at Cambridge Markets

We spend a fair bit of time talking about how important it is to support your local community. That’s because to live in a vibrant, uplifting and harmonious community, engaging with it socially and economically is imperative. It’s why we love markets. They’re places where you can come together with neighbours to have a wonderful time, meet local business owners and give back in whatever way you can.

It’s also why we love our friends at Local Publishing Co. They create small-scale but hugely meaningful magazines. These free publications are filled with stories about people, issues and innovation within the community. The hyper-local titles of Local PaddoLocal BondiLocal Surry Hills and Local Bayside are free, independent magazines crafted from high-quality print journalism and photography. We’re so lucky to have such beautifully edited, community-minded publications appear in our mailboxes regularly. Just in case you haven’t seen one yet, you can pick up the latest copies of Local Paddo and Local Surry Hills at the market tomorrow. If you love a good read, you’re in for a treat.

This week, wrap your hands around a warming brew from Fine Infusions Tea. At the market fortnightly on Saturdays, you’ll find premium loose leaf teas and handmade herbal blends to soothe and dispense comfort through the cooler months. All teas are hand-blended in owner Alana’s home tea studio and you’re invited to sample the brews at her pop-up tea bar at the market. Pop down for a cuppa and a chat about the multi-layered world of tea with Alana.

Whether you’re a seasoned green thumb or nervous plant-carer, you’ll be delighted by new stall Harnett’s Yard, joining us at the EQ market on both Wednesdays and Saturdays. With impressive lineage as a fourth-generation nursery wholesaler from Essex in the UK, Andy from Harnett’s Yard sells beautiful indoor (and some outdoor) plants in stylish pots, complete with hand-crafted advice cards on how to be a friend to your new foliage. Sourcing plants from the best plant wholesalers in New South Wales, Andy is keen to help people green-up their indoor spaces with confidence.

Winter is coming and you have to hand it to Mother Nature to provide vitamin C-rich citrus when we need it most to help stave off the sniffles. This week, Prickle Hill have sweet, juicy navel oranges ready for juicing, baking into a flourless orange cake, and for cutting into wedges and packing into Tupperware for Saturday sports. Simon from Veggie King is also bringing along navels, as well as snackable mandarins, crisp Pink Lady apples, persimmons, English spinach, tomatoes, parsley and coriander. While Prickle Hill have just-harvested Gravenstein apples ready for the lunchbox.

We hope you enjoyed our wonderful Cronulla market as much as we did last weekend. Thank you to everyone who came along to pick up their groceries, have a wander and a bite to eat, or find a special something to spoil themselves. We’re so thrilled to present our very first monthly Wenthworth Point Market this Saturday from 8am–2pm at Marina Square on Wentworth Place. If you’re in the area, please join us for a wholesome and healthy, open-air market experience that celebrates our community producers, artisans and makers.

Thank you for supporting your local market.
