Have some late-holidays fun at the markets

And just like that, the end of the school holidays is around the corner. Whether you’re secretly relieved or a little sad to send the kids back to school (or perhaps a bit of both), it’s time to make the most of these final few days and head to the market for some family fun.

Come down for a browse, a bite and a play. There’s something to entertain every member of your brood. Bigger kids (or small adults) will love a stroll through our artisanal stalls checking out inspiring local makers, while the littler ones will thoroughly enjoy a jumping castle, pop-up water park, plaster fun time and Fly Motion bungee. Release them into the market while you sip an excellent coffee in the shade and marvel at how quickly they grow.

We’re delighted to welcome The Street Food Project to the market on both Wednesdays and Saturdays. They bring their mouth-watering, slow-cooked goods to the grounds with plates piled with 24-hour beef brisket with crispy potatoes, spiced sweet potato and corn salsa; pork belly with mango salsa and beetroot hummus; and a meat-free mushroom extravaganza. We recommend a mandatory side serve of the truffle potatoes with lemon myrtle aioli, too.

This Wednesday, Mishy from Naturally Sauced will be dispensing her incredible range of dips, sauces and dressings to help bring some next-level flavour to your own cooking. We also have a new homewares store joining us this week. Luna Vista has a beautiful range of Moroccan rugs, floor cushions, hand-loomed blankets and woven bags sourced directly from artisans in Morocco and India. Pop by and pick up that stunning piece to perfectly offset your living space. Plus, we welcome Refillery with their range of eco-friendly cleaning products. Bring your own containers to fill with these lovely all-natural cleaners. Handmade in Tasmania, Refillery is dedicated to reducing plastic waste, which is a bandwagon we can wholeheartedly jump on!

Also this week, we have our beloved long-time stallholders Mayfarm Flowers. Serving the community with their bountiful blossoms for 20 years, the Nashdale growers truly bring a rush of colour and heady fragrance to the market. This week, they have fresh-cut hydrangeas, dahlias, lavender, roses, smoke bush, lillies, sunflowers, sweet William, bachelor buttons, wheat and rye grasses, artichokes, foliages and more. We consider a bunch of blooms to be a small but necessary investment in a happy state-of-being.

Saturday’s market sees the return of toothsome favourite Tothy Brothers Deli. Pop down for your fix of their unctuous, satisfying fare. We also have fashionable finds from Antonia Scales jewellery and Read and Bell. Plus the Pixie Patch and Cute Educational Toys join us, among many other joy-sparking stores.

Meet you at the market!
