After last weekend’s wonderful Shire Christmas Market at Miranda, we have wholeheartedly embraced the excitement of the season. We’d like to say a huge thanks to everyone who came along to support local artisan businesses, to do their Christmas shopping, and to revel in the festive feelings.

We’re continuing to make merry this weekend with our Ultimate Christmas Market at the EQ, which will be held on Sunday (29th) from 10am–4pm. Featuring more than 160 beautifully curated, specialist stalls, from fashion and homewares to toys, art, pet care and, of course, producers and hot food, it’s the perfect place to pick up a treasured gift in a healthy, open-air environment.

After the year that has been, we’re all in need of some seasonal cheer. And while things may be slightly different this year, it certainly feels as though everyone is ready to relish the true spirit of Christmas. So come on down and enjoy the community market experience alongside your fellow neighbours. There’s something to awaken the inner-child and silence the Grinch in anyone, from children’s rides to lovely festive products such as gingerbread houses, tasty puddings, unique gifts, decorations from The Christmas Wreath Company and you can tie a bow on it all at Wrappsody. We’ll see you Sunday – with (sleigh) bells on!

For those in your life who like to sauce it up, the perfect gift awaits at Bellamy and Co on Wednesdays and at the Ultimate Christmas Market this Sunday. There are four Bellamy and Co Christmas hampers available, each filled with the company’s barbecue-essential condiments plus a few exciting extras. There’s a hamper of the hottest of hot sauces for those who like to ignite a fire; there’s a barbecue essentials kit; a bloke-appropriate beer-lovers hamper complete with beer; and the pit master pro hamper, which includes a bottle of whisky, for all those serious home cooks. It’s an easy pick for those on your list who take great pride in their barbecuing chops.

If you, like us, have become somewhat dependant on the wholly (and holey) delightful sourdough crumpets from Scrumpets, you’ll be pleased to learn that you can still get your fix even if you can’t make it to the market. Scrumpets are now available online for delivery on Wednesday and Saturdays, so add them to your cart with some creamy Pepe Saya cultured butter and honey and make your mornings full of delicious baked goodness.

Show your four-legged buddy a little Christmas love with a gift from Puccii Care. Pop down to the Christmas market this Sunday and pick out one of these fur-tastic dog collars and leads made from recycled materials and that are specifically designed to withstand the Aussie climate. Available in white/black and orange/black with reflective stitching for safer walkies, the best things about these collars is that a huge 50 per cent of the purchase price is donated to local animal welfare groups. It’s a feelgood gift for you and your pooch that will bring some canine Christmas cheer.

As always, we have plenty of weekly online fresh fruit and veg specials ready to be delivered directly to your door, which makes for a hassle-free festive season. Enjoy juicy Roma tomatoes for $2.50 for 500g; iceberg lettuces at just $3.50 per head; and jap pumpkins for only $3.50 a quarter.

Also… we have cherries! It’s just not Christmas without them, but they’ll sell out quickly, so order now.
