Get ready for market season as Cambridge Markets sets up across Sydney
It goes without saying that we love a good market. Whether you come for the food, the interesting wares, to support local business or to simply to get outside and soak up some sun and community spirit, strolling the market is a wonderful, healthy way to spend an hour or two.
For us, the more people who can enjoy a local market, the better. So we’re delighted to be hosting the new Ryde Wharf Market at Anderson Park in Meadowbank every second Sunday from November 8. It’s a feat we would have thought impossible just a few months ago. But it serves as proof that 2020 can yet redeem itself! The market will feature 70 beautifully curated stalls spanning fresh produce, hot food, artisan makers, gifts and homewares. Even if you’re not a Ryde resident, come for a visit and explore a little slice of your Sydney backyard.
We’re also looking forward to welcoming back our Christmas markets in November, which take place at Cronulla, the Entertainment Quarter and Watsons Bay. If you’re a stallholder, applications will open this month, so keep an eye out to be a part of these fun and festive events.

If you look forward to Bellamy & Co’s delicious burgers and wraps at the market each Wednesday, you’ll be thrilled to learn that Rob has now introduced his own signature bottled sauces to the stall. Realising he needed a second revenue stream when the pandemic hit, Rob set about crafting his all-natural sauce range, which includes a go-with-anything burger sauce and a few spicy numbers to add heat to the meat, such as chilli ketchup, chipotle aioli, chilli mayo, habanero hot sauce and jalapeno hot sauce. Stock the pantry with Bellamy & Co condiments and you’ll never suffer a bland barbecue again!

It’s mango time again, says Michael from Banana Bar. He has the first mangoes of the season from the Northern Territory, which have lovely tropical, coconut overtones. Michael also has non-acidic, super-sweet pineapples, gut-healthy and delicious papaya and, of course, those Coffs Harbour bananas we can never get enough of. Also at the market this week, James from Prickle Hill has tender asparagus and Moonacres Farm returns on Wednesday after a short break. Let your market basket overflow with this abundance of treats.

Bring the kids down to the market this week for a school holiday activity and enjoy the final days of the Spring Family Fair, which ends on Sunday. Let little ones loose on unlimited rides, carnival games and a doggie fashion parade for as little as $5 a ticket, while you take a moment to enjoy a bite and a browse at the market. On Wednesday Homeland Street Food returns to the market with their vibrant Israeli fare. There’s also Byron Bay Olives, Scrumpets and Spice Den offering a range of tempting morsels. While on Saturday, pick up a treat at Hudson’s gluten-free bakery and Cake Stories by Francesca, or take home a leafed friend in a colourful vessel from Fyto Boutique.
