Come to The Shire Summer Market this weekend!
As we move into the last month of summer it’s time to squeeze every drop of sunshine out of the season. We have a good plan for that. Pop down on Saturday or Sunday (or both!) this weekend to stroll The Shire Summer Market. It’s a beautiful, healthy way to spend a summer’s day and you could even bookend your market excursion with a trip to the beach. We’ll be at Miranda Park, 639R Kingsway, Miranda, between 10am-4pm both days with a huge array of mixed market stalls to peruse, prowl and purchase from.
There’ll be fashion from Venetia Elaine, Kookoon, Wolf Bear Collective and Stellino. You’ll also find shades to shield the last of summer’s rays at Pacific Optical; threads for kids from Bobby & Rose and Petit Mille Kids’ Studio; not to mention treats to keep pups and pussycats shiny and well. And to really dial up the festival vibes, kids can get their little faces painted, go wild on rides, and leave with a fun-packed show bag. A big thank you to our sponsor Tynan Motors. We couldn’t do it without you.
Global food at The Shire Summer Market
As well as offering great shopping, there’s also two days of deliciousness at The Shire Summer Market. Even if you’re not keen to spend up on clothing, homewares or creative wares (you may find yourself tempted, though), a path to your heart will be forged via your stomach thanks to our range of artisan food stalls. There’s classic pizza from Fire and Flames, unctuous barbecue from Cook Out BBQ, incredible bites from Street Food Project, not to mention Souvlaki Wraps, Halloumi Me, Paddy the Baker, true New Yorker-style nosh at Brooklyn Boy Bagels, and soothing tinctures from Taylor Made Tea Co. You may also be persuaded to update your drinks service with tipples from Bondi Liquor, Tara Distillery, Hill 60, Buffalo Vale Distillery, and Azteca Margarita.
At EQ this week…
Eat well at EQ market this week too, with our usual array of exceptional fare. On Saturday kick off the weekend with a little fiery chorizo at Mojo Picon, or if you’re in need of a curative post a-bit-too-much Friday night fun, head to Pho Bay Noodle for a nurturing broth, our egg-cellent bacon and egg stall is also a hot favourite for dusty Saturday mornings, and China Dragon dumplings never fail, no matter what ails.
Of course, our wonderful fresh and bright grocers will also be on-hand to dispense their nutrient-dense wares, from the season’s plumpest and most fragrant mangoes to iridescent greens for salads and smoothies. So fill your basket at Vegie King and Prickle Hill, and don’t forget a bunch of blooms from Mayfarm Flowers.
And looking ahead…
Make a note in your diary that our next Ryde Wharf Market will be taking place next Sunday, February 13. This beautiful waterside market is a lovely day out and a healthy way to shop for all your fresh and pantry needs, plus a few little special extras. The following week, on Sunday February 20, find us at Wentworth Point Market. See you there!
