A safe alfresco shopping experience at Cambridge Markets EQ

A big, warm thank you to all our marketgoers and stallholders who came along to the Ultimate Mother’s Day Market last weekend. It was such a lovely day with a browse-and-buy worthy collection of interesting, delicious and beautiful gifts, treats and novelties.

If you joined us last weekend, no doubt you’ve sorted out all your mother-related gifting and have a lovely surprise planned and prepped for Mum this Sunday, but just in case you’ve run out of time (it happens), never fear, we’re here help with our usual array of brilliant stalls, where you can find that special something.

Our regular Saturday market is, as always, such an uplifting shopping experience. Set under our open-air canopy, you’ll encounter local farmers, makers, bakers and even candlestick makers selling all manner of wonderful wares. Shopping in this way benefits the community and small business and is all-round good for the wellbeing of the local economy, stallholders and our shoppers. In light of the current COVID precautions, we would like to reassure you that we continue to maintain all health, safety and cleaning practices in accordance with guidelines. But, please, if you feel unwell, do stay home and rest up. The market will always be there for you next week!

If you’re still stuck for a gift to put you in the good books with Mum, there’s plenty at the EQ market this Saturday to help you achieve favourite-child status. Bowerbird Jewels have stunning pieces made in Sydney from natural gemstones; Verve Candles will sweetly scent Mum’s abode with special Mother’s Day candles of ‘beachside’ and ‘flower drum’; 2 Duck Trading will keep Francophile mums pleased with their range of everything from market baskets to duck rillettes; Elegance by A brings fragrance to the special day with their range of candles, diffusers and solid perfume, which makes the ideal handbag-size gift; or give spiritually inclined mums a crystal encrusted candle from Empath Ana. If all else fails, there is always a beautiful bunch of blooms from Mayfarm Flowers, from roses to sunflowers to Oriental lillies, to brighten her day.

For food-loving mothers, make sure you grab a lovely lemon poppyseed sourdough crumpet from Scrumpets to add to mum’s breakfast in bed or take the decadence up a level with a vanilla custard and rhubarb doughnut from Berliner Bakery. We all know the direct route to mum’s good books is via chocolate, so pick her up some morsels from Emporium of Chocolate. For mum’s who love their evening tipple, you can’t go wrong with a bottle or two from local Hunter Valley Savannah Estate Winery or find her a gin for her nightly G&T from Buffalo Vale Distillery. Or why not just bring your mum to the market for lunch from Brooklyn Boy Bagels, Bao Boys or to munch a custard tart from Portuguese Tarts?

For those who like to cut it fine, don’t forget the Ryde Wharf Market is on this Sunday and will be brimming with excellent last-minute gift ideas from Mayfarm Flowers, Bowerbird Jewels, Verve Candles, Red Lauren, and plants from Fiddle and Fig. Bring your mum!

Thank you and see you at the market.
