The sun is shining and our marketeers are raring to welcome you this weekend

It almost felt as though the clouds would never part again, but lo and behold blue sky and sunshine are back and we’re going to make the most of it! If you’re like us, you’re simply bursting to get outdoors sans umbrella and revel in the golden rays, or at least, make the most of this respite from rain.

There’s no better outdoor activity than to pop along to your local community market. Stow the brolli and come join us at the EQ on Saturday to stroll our fantastic stalls selling all the good things that make cloudless days that much brighter, such as fresh flowers, fragrant coffee, buttery pastries, and just-baked bread. Time to make hay, as they say…

If all that rain had you cosying up your space with the warm glow of a scented candle, come along to Empath Ana and replenish your supplies. These beautiful hand-poured soy wax candles are topped with glittering crystals and embedded with herbs to truly help you find some serenity (now!). You’ll also find journals, white sage, affirmation and oracle cards at this clairvoyant’s stall. So if you need a little help to get into a meditative mood, come and visit Empath Ana.

This week at the market, we welcome Katsu Guy with his deliciously golden and crunchy Japanese-style comfort food. Katsu is the country’s much-loved take on the western schnitzel – a crumbed cutlet of meat or seafood served in either a sandwich or curry. If you haven’t yet had the experience, we implore you to come along and try it at the market. Also this weekend, enjoy a fragrant bowl of pho from Pho Bay Noodle, Spanish flavours at Mojo Picon, Turkey’s answer to pizza at Ottoman Gozlome, and deli classics from Tothy Brothers Deli. And don’t miss a visit to Buffalo Vale Distillery for a tipple, 2 Duck Trading for all your Gallic requirements, and Red Lauren and Fine Infusions Tea.

Get a head start on Easter excitement this Saturday and Sunday at the Cronulla Easter Market at Don Lucas Reserve from 10am–4pm. You’ll find a huge 190 stalls to browse, selling everything from hot food and treats to homewares and fashion, plus activities for all ages with children’s rides to keep the younger members of your squad thoroughly entertained. So shake your cottontail on down to the Shire this weekend and soak up some sunshine.

Don’t forget, no matter the weather, there’s always so much on at EQ, so keep this little gem of a locale in your back pocket come the school holidays. The annual Sydney Family Show kicks off with brood-friendly Easter entertainment from 1 April and carries through until the 18th. For art lovers, be sure to check out the multi-sensory experience of Monet & Friends at the Royal Hall of Industries until 18 April. And let your hair down with Channing Tatum’s Magic Mike Live, which is on until 16 May. Of course, there’s always the holiday boredom busters of Hoyts Cinema, Plaster Fun Time and an array of excellent dining and shopping. Not to mention our fabulous market on every Wednesday and Saturday. See you there!

Thank you and enjoy the sunshine!
